Professional Counselling Skills Internship Training (PCSIT)

Introduction / Course Overview:

We offer the Professional Counselling Skills Internship Training Program (PCSIT), a 6-month, practice-focused training program designed to bridge a critical gap in psychology education. Higher studies and professional pathways often require prior counselling experience, yet undergraduate programs usually do not teach how to provide counselling. At the same time, gaining experience is difficult without structured training. PCSIT is specifically tailored to provide guided learning, supervised practice, and real-world exposure to counselling work.

We deliver PCSIT through a structured, hands-on approach:

  • Weekly skill-based workshops
  • Group mentoring sessions
  • Supervised simulation role plays
  • Group facilitation practice
  • Suicide Attention & Prevention training
  • Psychoeducation, guided reflection, and guest learning sessions

Goal of the Program

Our goal is to develop confident, ethically grounded, and skill-ready counselling practitioners. Participants will:

  • Build therapeutic communication and counselling skills
  • Understand professional boundaries and ethics
  • Navigate emotions, trauma responses, and crisis conversations
  • Facilitate individual and group processes
  • Gain supervised counselling experience required for higher studies and professional growth
